Latest Updates from Our Project:

The good, the bad, and the ugly.

The good

Metal coins- The manufacturer has sent me samples of the metal coin dies, and they look great! The scarring and "old" look Peter put into his designs came through beautifully. We just need to decide on some color so we can get some colored samples. Originally I had intended for them to all be gold, since that is the currency of the game, what are your thoughts on that? Should they all be gold, or should they be different colors?

The Miniatures- With Micah's help we are moving along very well with the miniatures, and while it has taken longer than I had planned, we should have them done in good time.

The bad

Pledge manager- Because of my attempts to use a new pledge manager this time it has taken way longer than planned to get it up and running. Finally, I decided to abandon the whole idea and use Backerkit again. During the Christmas holidays I worked on the Backerkit, adding most of the items, arranging the pre-order prices for late backers ect... Then when I went to continue yesterday on my other computer, I could not find the project on Backerkit. I sat back down at my main computer and sure enough, it was all there! I had to log in again from it sitting dormant for a few days, and poof! I had a blank slate again!!

So, anyways, I will be completely redoing all of my input work instead of just finishing up a few things. My plan was to release it today but now that will not happen. Hopefully I can get it done and released in the next couple of weeks but it will be delayed as I am heading out of country for a week on Monday, for my day job.

I thank you all for your patience, we will get this done!

The ugly

There really is no "ugly" as per say, but as it stands right now I assume we will be a bit late on our project delivery. If everything were to go according to plan there is still plenty of time to be on time, but since when does everything go according to plan!

We are working on things as fast as possible, but I will make sure they are done right, not just fast. Either way, we will keep you all in the loop as we draw nearer to our delivery date.

Cheers!

Mike

Christmas update
about 8 years ago – Wed, Dec 28, 2016 at 07:20:25 AM

Hi all,

I just wanted to post an update to let you know how things are going.

Pledge Manager-

I have decided to officially switch over to backerkit since I've had lot's of trouble with getting timely responses from the other manager I was hoping to use. I plan on working on it this week and hopefully getting it up and going before Christmas.

Several of you were wondering if you had missed the chance for add ons, address changes ect. This will all be possible through Backerkit.

Rules-

We are going through what should be the last round of edits. This means that the rules should be ready for Peter to lay out shortly.

Coins-

The metal coin samples are in progress, so for the time being this project is done! As soon as I see some sample pictures I will post another update. Peter did a great job giving the coins multiple depths, so I expect great things!

Miniatures-

Micah has stepped in to help Chad get things on track schedule wise, and he is doing some great work! Here are the two mini's he has completed so far:

Merry Christmas from all of us at Lamp Light Games! We hope you get the chance to play lot's of games with family and friends!

Blessings!

Hi folks!

Time has flown by but we are slowly getting things done. Joshua is working on draft number two of the rules edits and Peter is working with the manufacturer to get the coins started.

Because of a busy schedule and some family time away from work Chad has asked if we would like to get some extra help from a colleague, Micah Nichols and after taking a look at his work I decided to go ahead. He is a great sculptor and will help us keep from getting to far off track time wise. I'm excited to see his work on our project, and don't worry, we will keep you folks updated on the process!

I hope you all get to play lots of games with family and friends this Christmas season!

Thanks,

Mike Friesen

Hey all.
We asked and your votes told us you wanted a purple kickstarter exclusive dragon.  While we don't have the skill tree totally ironed out, I present to you...the purple dragon

Pledge manager update, coins, next game!
about 8 years ago – Sat, Oct 22, 2016 at 07:33:47 AM

Hi folks,

The company who created the pledge manager we are using has turned over the page to me so I am working on adding the items in so I can launch it for all of you.

There are a few kinks to work out first such as how to do shipping costs as there are many different costs located with different locations.

I hope to have this done and sent out to you within a week but I want to make sure it's ready before I send it out.

Coins!

Peter has completed the metal coin designs and they are fantastic! The manufacturer uses the different shades as depth markers so the coins will have a great 3d feel to them.

 Next Game

As we are working on Whelps to Wyrms we are also getting ready for our next launch, a trick taking card game! Part of my journey to becoming a full time publisher involves me getting my games out a bit closer together to keep a sustainable cash flow going. This will probably mean that I will be staggering lighter and heavier games to create a rhythm that I can live with.

Don't get Mad, Get Evens! is a trick taking card game (two actually!) that is designed by Leif (the designer of Nautilus Industries). It's actually been fully complete rules wise for a couple of years but I wanted to pick the right time to bring it out, now is that time! This card game includes 108 cards in 16 suits... wait, what?! Actually it has 4 basic suits and also dual suits. The way you score points makes the game very strategic but it's also easy to learn, and a great game to play with family and people who don't usually play games.

I plan to launch a Kickstarter in early November and I'll post up a Print and Play here soon for you to try out.

Thanks for now folks!
